13 x 80 BOATSHED FOR SALE AT £250,000 !

A boatshed in an exclusive yachting resort is to be auctioned with a guide price of £250,000, it emerged today.

The waterside shed, with green painted double doors and a sloping corrugated iron roof, is jammed in between two other buildings in Salcombe, south Devon.

The shed itself, just 13 feet wide and 80 feet deep, can also be accessed from the resort's Island Street, and has a slipway to the tidal Kingsbridge estuary.

"There has been quite a lot of interest in it - they do not come up very often," said a spokesman for auctioneers Charles Head and Son in Salcombe today, adding: "And being by the water is quite a premium."

The shed, which is rented out as a boat store at the moment, is being sold by someone who has moved away from Salcombe.

Auctioneers' director Bob Petit said it was the most expensive garage or boatshed they had ever seen up for auction.

But he added: "I am confident it will sell at the price."

The auction will take place at Salcombe Yacht Club on Wednesday at 2.30pm.
