Shed TV

Was listening to Chris Evans on the way home today, and he was interviewing a guy about a new TV channel Horse and country TV, so I texted in to suggest that SHED.tv would be a great thing to have, with shows on what people do in their sheds etc, well a bit like readersheds but moving faster

Anyway Mr Evans mentioned it and then started talking about his SHEDS(he should share them) and his allotment, so I think he would be a great person to support national shed week, along with Wagon and Boggy' Marsh, but they never return my emails!!

what do you lot think? and how could we integrate it with the Shed of the Year awards, maybe have the ones with the most votes in each category video their sheds as well?

Shed Week and Shed of the Year 2007

Due to the lack of governmental response to a special national week that celebrates the garden shed, the powers that be, i.e me looking at my shed calendar and pointing with my eyes closed, have decided that the first ever National Shed Week should be ...

The first week in July, which this year starts Monday 2nd July.

Among the various activities in National Shed Week we will be holding a prestigious Shed of the Year competition, with the winner/s being announced in the middle of the shedweek.

We will be putting out a call to all existing sheddies and any new ones that register and put up more than one picture of their shed on readersheds.co.uk by June 25th 2007. The public or fellow sheddies will then be able to vote in a range of shed categories (including Garden Office of the Year which is sponsored by The Shed magazine) and we will be awarding prizes to the best sheds in the each category.

If you are a shed company that wants to provide prizes or sponsor a category on Shed of the Year or the whole thing!, and jump on the bandwagon that is shedweek, then please let me know.

Shedweek : Progress

Not much progress on shedweek, as the powers that be are not up for it, then we will set our own! and wait for them to jump on afterwards!

We will be announcing an event to take part in national shed week some time in the next 7 days.

Just to give you some notice it involves sheds, thats all I'am saying on the matter. ;)

National shed week - Downing Street rejected

I put the national shed week up for petition on the govenment website the other week, but its been rejected :(.

If a week to celebrate the importance of sheds on British life has "no point about government policy" then it sums up today's politics, load of rubbish

Muso shows support for Shed Week

Singer/Songwriter and Sheddie Polly Paulusma has put her support towards our campaign for National shed week.

she says

"My shed is where i do all my music. it's a place far away from the phone and the front door, peaceful, wonderful. sheds should be available on prescription for anyone that needs some space to make things. i love my shed."

Shedweek - A political hot wossname

WE have posted a call to help on the David Cameron website, and got some comments, but also some support.

I'am waiting on number 10 to get back to me, but maybe they are busy today, hopefully that dreaded SHEDTAX wont be coming in, but in the meantime, you can sign our petition here

WE support national shed week - Do you?

We all know about St paddys day, april fools day and the rest, but the PR agencies are getting in big time with made up weeks/months for their products or causes, such as national chip week, National Pet Month, Be Nice to Nettles Week, International Bog Day and National Allotments Week, of course some a lot of them are very worthy to get people interested in going out and about and doing something new.

Alas there is no longer a national shed week, in the states there is national shed month, but this seems to be just an advert thing, and our old friends at transglobal did mention National Shed Day (May 28) on their great calendar.

So Iam looking to try get a national day/week of the shed, back on the agenda, I was thinking maybe 03-July as it was the birthday of readersheds.co.uk, but maybe the birthday of some famous sheddie?
